Football
January 30, 2010 5:08 pm SportsFootball has continued to be the popular sport in the United States over the last twenty years. Sports fans never seem to get tired of the sport that is filled with violence. Players are carried off of the field on a regular basis. Injuries are a common thing in this dangerous form of sports. Over the past couple of decades the sport has become even more violent than it was back in the earlier days of the sport. Every year the league seems to get faster, and the players continue to get bigger and faster by the time they are ready to come from college to the National Football League. The top athletes that are coming out of college are looked at as the greatest athletes that the team has, and the top rookies are paid alot more than even some of the other players that have been in the league for many years. The only problem with some of these salaries is that they are so high that there is a good deal of pressure for these rookies to start producing right away. There is not a lot of time to wait on a player to get ready to play when the player is getting paid millions of dollars every year. To sit a player on the bench that makes this much money every year is looked at as a waste, and has caused some teams not to even want the number one pick and sometimes try to trade the pick.
